Conventional Wisdom

Yeeeeeeaaaaaaah…. I don’t know who it was AZ brought in to set up the sound/video systems this year, but I kind of hope they got a stern talking to afterwards. Tech problems were rampant this year, even more so than usually happens at a con. That was especially bad at our Shoujo Rock Heaven panel, which was kind of entirely based around playing music videos. So, apologies to everyone who had to sit around for 20 minutes waiting for us to get stuff running. Also, HUGE apologies to the Maid Cafe people who lost set-up time because we were still in the room. It wasn’t our fault!

(Historical Notes: Because I don’t think Past Me was quite clear enough, I just want to stress that many conventions, Animazement included, bring in third parties to handle stuff like the A/V equipment.  So any salty remarks about that stuff is NOT directed at the convention staff itself.  I think a lot of people don’t realize just how much stuff happening at larger cons is NOT the work of people directly affiliated with the convention itself.)
